Originally a market building, this Western-style red-brick octagonal structure, known as The Red House Theater in Taipei's Ximen District was built in 1908 during Japanese rule. It is Taiwan's first public market and the most well preserved class III historical site. In total 3 spaces: ‘The Octagon Building’, ‘Cruciform Building’ and adjacent ‘South-North Square’ are now collectively known as ‘The Red House.
